Giant Steps and TutorMe Recognized for Digital Learning Innovation in 5th Annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards Program

Prestigious International Awards Program Honors Outstanding Educational Technology Products and Companies

LOS ANGELES – June 20, 2023 – Giant Steps and TutorMe, both from digital learning company GoGuardian, today announced they have been selected as winners in the 5th annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards program conducted by EdTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies and solutions in the global educational technology market.

Giant Steps, a gamified digital learning experience designed to help K-12 teachers boost student collaboration and independent practice, was selected as the “Gamified Digital Learning Solution of the Year” award. TutorMe, an online tutoring solution creating access and opportunity for all students, won for “Tutoring Solution of the Year.”

“The Giant Steps team was intentional about every aspect of design, because engaging students is essential to helping them become active learners. Every detail is designed to encourage students, rather than having them feel discouraged or defeated. We are pleased to recognize them with a 2023 EdTech Breakthrough award,” said James Johnson, managing director, EdTech Breakthrough. “This thoughtful design with a basis in learning science and educational research, allows Giant Steps to provide a fun and engaging gamified digital learning experience that nurtures a positive classroom community - and encourages students to continue learning.”

The mission of the EdTech Breakthrough Awards is to honor excellence and recognize the innovation, hard work and success in a range of educational technology categories, including Student Engagement, School Administration, Adaptive Learning, STEM Education, Remote Learning, Career Preparation and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 2,400 nominations from over 16 different countries throughout the world.

James Johnson added, “Congratulations to TutorMe for being our ‘Tutoring Solution of the Year.’ Administrators, teachers, and students are faced with the challenge of closing learning gaps that occurred as a result of the pandemic. One-on-one tutoring is an optimum solution that can improve outcomes for students, however, it isn’t always possible for teachers to provide it on a daily or even weekly basis. TutorMe scales tutoring support in a way that's efficient and accessible for schools, with flexible opportunities to learn no matter the location, time of day, or teacher availability.”

GoGuardian is proud to build industry-recognized, engaging, and learning-oriented products that deliver results for students and teachers. Giant Steps and TutorMe are both dedicated to enabling students to participate in individualized learning, based on their personalized goals.
