Prevent Video Streaming Alerts

Since COVID-19 and many schools operating distance learning, GoGuardian has received customer feedback that many video streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ were generating alerts that schools and districts felt were non-actionable. Many schools have allowed students to view streaming services on their devices but unfortunately this also significantly increased the number of alerts generated. Many of the closed captions were generating alerts, which were viewed as false positives and non-actionable alerts. In order to improve the customer experience, we analyzed historical alert data and improved the Beacon monitoring and alerting model to minimize the possibility of an alert being generated from a video streaming service.
