WASHINGTON– Oct. 24, 2023  – GoGuardian, the leading company providing proven solutions to create effective, engaging, and safer learning environments, today joined the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) in announcing an industry-wide commitment to principles ensuring the responsible development and use of Artificial Intelligence in educational technology. SIIA's recently published principles underscore AI’s“vast promise to enhance a learner’s educational experience, an educator’s career, or a parent’s involvement.”

GoGuardian is among 10 industry-leading learning companies that serve on SIIA’s AI in Education Steering Committee, which developed and endorsed the industry principles. These principles are closely aligned with GoGuardian’s previously published commitments on the responsible use of AI in creating safe and productive learning environments.

Teddy Hartman, Head of Privacy & Data Policy at GoGuardian, emphasized the significance of these principles, stating, "AI holds immense promise to help educators personalize instruction to the needs of every individual student at a scale that hasn’t, until now, been possible. The providers building these tools have an equally immense responsibility to students, parents, andeducators to harness these technologies in ways that prioritize student safety and well-being. Today’s industry-wide commitments are an important step toward ensuring the responsible use of AI in K-12 classrooms."
