GoGuardian Appoints Cyrus Mistry as Chief Product Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Mistry brings with him 25 years of hardware and software experience culminating in an executive leadership role at Google.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GoGuardian, the leading education technology company helping K-12 schools maximize the learning potential of every student, today announced the appointment of former Google executive Cyrus Mistry to the dual role of Chief Product Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Mistry brings with him 25 years of hardware and software experience with roles in product management, program management, and software development, culminating in an executive leadership role at Google.

“His experience in the edtech market, combined with his unmatched business intelligence, is going to help lead us through the next phase of growth at GoGuardian."

For the last 14 years, Mistry has managed the education, enterprise, and consumer sides of product teams at Google, including Android, Chrome, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Tasks, and the Enterprise Search business. Most notably, he served as the original product lead responsible for launching Chromebooks to schools worldwide — a product that is now the market leader in K-12 globally.

“Cyrus has a keen ability to find tremendous product-market fit and envision product innovations that not only create market leaders, but completely transform the way people engage with technology,” said Advait Shinde, GoGuardian CEO. “His experience in the edtech market, combined with his unmatched business intelligence, is going to help lead us through the next phase of growth at GoGuardian.”

At GoGuardian, Mistry will lead the teams tasked with designing and building the expansion of GoGuardian’s product offerings in the K-12 space — work driven by the company’s vision to supercharge human potential by enabling more productive, effective, and safe digital learning.

“I couldn't be more excited to join what I believe is one of the most successful edtech companies I've worked with over the last decade,” said Mistry. “Already GoGuardian has helped administrators protect students and helped hundreds of thousands of teachers use classroom technology more effectively; looking forward, there’s an enormous opportunity to transform how students learn.”

Mistry’s appointment is the latest milestone in GoGuardian’s rapid growth this past year, including the acquisition of Pear Deck in November 2020 and the acquisition of Edulastic just last month. The combined platform becomes one of the most widely used educational technology ecosystems in the United States, reaching one out of three K-12 students nationwide, serving more than 22 million students at over 14,000 schools.
